I led end-to-end design for this project, a marketing automation platform helping business owners grow using AI-driven insights, smart campaigns, and creator partnerships. I designed the web experience from zero, and the key features were campaign creation (email, text, video), Ask Tavolo (AI assistant), customer segmentation, and a Pro marketplace for influencers.

Project Overview
Client: Tavolo (Startup)
Team: Me (Product Designer), 3 Founders, 1 Frontend Engineer, several Backend Engineers
Goal: Build a web platform that helps restaurants grow using smart, AI-powered tools, ranging from campaign automation to influencer bookings and advanced customer analytics.
My Role
- Led end-to-end product design
- Sketched early concepts and wireframes
- Built the Figma design system from scratch
- Designed over 20+ screens across multiple user roles
- Worked hand-in-hand with frontend/dev teams for handoff, iteration, and QA
- Participated in async feedback loops with founders to align business vision with UX
- Adapted design across user types: restaurant owners, marketers, and influencers
The Problem
Independent restaurants were struggling to grow because:
- They had no simple tools to run consistent marketing
- They couldn't afford full-time marketers or designers
- Influencer partnerships were hard to find, book, and track
- Analytics were fragmented across platforms (Meta, TikTok, Email, etc.)
Tavolo's mission: Build an all-in-one growth tool that's easy to use, AI-assisted, and designed for busy restaurant owners.
Key Insights That Shaped Design
- Users needed AI to be assistive, not overwhelming
- Campaigns needed to be launched in under 5 mins to avoid friction
- Cross-platform insights (email, SMS, TikTok, etc.) needed to be digestible at a glance
- Influencers needed a clean booking flow and a place to track earnings and availability
Website & Waitlist Page
Designed responsive marketing site to explain Tavolo's value prop clearly. Created sign-up flows with influencer/restaurant waitlist segmentation.


Campaign Dashboard
Unified dashboard to create and monitor Email, SMS, and Video campaigns. Show campaign stats like: total sequences, open rate & click rate, performance over time.


Email Campaign Builder
Drag-and-drop no-code email builder. Users could define sequencing logic: actions, conditions, schedules. View real-time reports and subscriber growth.


Text Campaigns
Similar to email, without the builder. Focused on simplicity and quick scheduling.


Video Campaigns
Integrated AI video generation (animated, live, ads, etc.). Browse drafts, trends, and generated videos. AI editor assistant helps adjust content. View platform-specific metrics (Meta, Instagram, TikTok).


Ask Tavolo — AI Assistant
An assistant tailored for business owners. Example use case: “Please help find customers with the lowest AOV” — returns segment data instantly with the option to launch a campaign. Available across dashboard, customer section, and video editor. Reduces time-to-decision for campaign creation and analysis.


Customer Management & Segmentation
Customer database view with filters. Total customer count + total segments. Segment builder powered by AI (or manual option). Create personalized campaigns based on segment insights.


Influencer Marketplace (Hire a Pro)
Browse top influencers, view rates, availability, and past performance. Booking system: pre-filled influencer, add project details, description, budget, files, schedule, track status (accepted/pending). Upload & manage media files via centralized Media Library.


Influencer Portal (Onboarding & Dashboard)
Login/signup flow tailored for creators. Dashboard showing: connected accounts, total earnings, posts, bookings, availability calendar + recent activity.


Bookings
Calendar view similar to Google Calendar. Set availability, view current/past projects.


Chat
Messaging system for communicating with brands.


Earnings & Engagement
Visual metrics on: engagement rate, audience regions, age, followers by platform, completed projects, posts performance. Accept/decline project offers directly from dashboard.


Outcomes
- Designed and delivered a production-ready web experience in 6 months
- Design system adopted for future modules
- Final product demo used for fundraising and pilot onboarding
- Positioned Tavolo as a serious player in restaurant marketing automation
